last mile
tech bootcamp
+ newsletter

Last mile tech bootcamp + newsletter aimed at helping self-taught developers to "relearn technology" into a rewarding career. Remote, project based, peer-motivated, and FREE (volunteer led).

What does it mean "last mile"?
You probably know your tech but lack "professional" experience. Volunteer Mentors act as project managers, tech leads, and proverbial "unblockers" as you build your own project just like you would in a real-world tech company.

How does it work?
We do sprint planning together, play Scrum Poker together, we do code reviews, pull requests, deployments, stand-ups (not necessarily daily), so that you can put this experience on top of your CVs, and confidently talk about it during interviews.

How much does it cost?
It's FREE. You do the work why should we charge you? Besides, we also put this on our CVs as tech leads, mentors... btw why not join us and volunteer[at]relearn.tech?

    Why move into tech?

"What I say to all my mentees, is that I don't think I ever got a (high paying) tech job because of my tech skills alone, it was always some other experience I brought to the table, and so they are uniquely positioned to succeed from the get go, they just need to relearn tech into a effective tool for getting things done."

    How to even start?

"To use a practical example, it might sound crazy if I asked you to build a house from scratch... but if I show you that there are blueprints available online for free, and that someone else dug and laid the foundations already, then show you how to put one brick on top of another, one at a time, how to check it's level, how to stick it together with mortar, and finally remind you that it's okay to get help from a plumber to do the plumbing, and to get a building inspector to sign it off at the end, it turns out it's just a matter of starting."
